Muslim Forum for Democracy and Peace in Malawi has expressed gratitude to President Joyce Banda for including six ministers in the newly reconstituted cabinet.

The ministers are Uladi Mussa for Home Affairs, Atupele Muluzi for Economic Planning, Sidik Mia for Transport and Public Works, Cassim Chilumpha for Energy and Mining, Ibrahim Matola deputy minister for Environment and Halima Daudi deputy minister for Health.

“This is quite commendable and worth saluting. Islam teaches us to be thankful for any gift that one receives as in Quran 14: 7,” chairperson of the forum Sheikh Jafaar Kawinga said on Wednesday.

Kawinga called on the Muslim ministers to be dedicated and avoid indulging in corruption, injustice and insubordination.

Malawi President Joyce Banda announced a 32-member cabinet on April 26 2012.
