Musician Faith Mussa will tomorrow release a single titled Waiting taken off his upcoming third album.

Done in collaboration with a UK group, Sondr, the song will be available on online platforms like Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, Deezer, according to Mussa.

“I am releasing the single titled Waiting under my UK label, Beating Heart. It was recorded in the UK by Nico Bentley of the music outfit there called Afriquioi. Later, it was redone by Sondr and that’s the release version,” he said.

Mussa: I am grateful for the support from my fans

Mussa continues to focus on the international market by working with different artists outside Malawi.

Waiting was first released to the international audience especially in Europe. Now is the turn for Malawians and the rest of the world,” he said.

Mussa said the title of the single befits what is on the ground; the wait has been long as his last album was released in 2017.

“I am grateful for the support from my fans in Malawi and worldwide,” stated Mussa.

In a separate interview, Beating Heart co-founder, Chris Pedley said the song is coming after undergoing a series of fine tuning.

“Faith wrote and recorded his evocative, heartfelt lyrics accompanied with his acoustic guitar at Ollie’s flat in London at the end of 2018,” he said.

Pedley said the song came after deep meditation and conversation about a message that they wanted to bring to the world, to tell people to take a leap of faith when an opportunity is presented.

“The song marinated for a while. We recorded it again in 2019, this time at Stone Town Records studio in Zanzibar when Faith was performing at Sauti Zu Busara Festival,” he said.

He stated that Mussa’s originality is what attracted the Beating Heart to the musician.

On the possibility of signing more Malawian artists, he said: “Authenticity is the key, so we’d never say never!”
