The K1 million Professor Arthur Mutharika Women Football League starts in the Central Region tomorrow without defending champions DD Sunshine.
Central Region Women Football League (CRWFL) general secretary Faggie Kazingatchire said DD Sunshine have not registered for the season.
“We reminded them several times to register, but they did not come. We had no choice but to close the doors on them,” said Kazingatchire.
However, DD Sunshine owner David Dube has accused administrators of the league of running it unprofessionally.
“What we know is that the league is not officially launched by FAM, so how can the season start. These women should learn to run things professionally,” said Dube.
However, Kazingatchire said they were communicated by National Women Football Committee (NWFC) to start the league.
