Mwamadi teams up with Chibambo for BB polls

Nyasa Big Bullets main supporters committee chairperson Stone Mwamadi has teamed up with former secretary Mabvuto Chibambo ahead of the elections slated for this Saturday at Gymkhana Club in Zomba.

Mwamadi yesterday confirmed that they have come up with a shadow committee which has Chibambo as secretary.

“We have come up with a vibrant shadow committee that will help breathe a new lease of life in the way the committee is supposed to operate.

“That can only be done when we have people that are resourceful and have brilliant ideas like Chibambo,” said Mwamadi.

On his part, Chibambo said he is returning to help revive the supporters committee.

“It is time we changed the way the supporters committee operates. Mwamadi has brilliant ideas but to achieve his goals, he needs an equally resourceful team.

“One of the things that we want to put in place is to come up with plans that will benefit both the sponsor and the club. The sponsor [Nyasa Manufacturing Company] is investing K100 million plus and they need to see the benefits of such investments and one of them is to set up kiosks from a zonal level that will be selling the sponsor’s products. It has to be a win-win situation.

“We are also looking at stepping up the membership and commercial drives through sale of cards and merchandise. The main supporters committee should be one of the vehicles to be used in generating funds for the club,” he said.

Chibambo was in the previous committee but was suspended to pave the way for investigations relating to how proceeds from a Blantyre derby between Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers were handled. The investigations ended in suspense.

“As supporters we should be able to generate funding that should help construct our own stadium. That is the path we want to take, but more details will be unveiled at a press conference soon,” he said.

Apart from Mwamadi and Chibambo, the shadow committee also has Bruno Gama as vice-chairperson, Elson ‘Kabila’ Nagoli as second vice-chairperson, Watson Masita as vice-secretary, Chingeni Gumbata as treasurer and Hassan Mahomed as vice-treasurer. n
