Australia-based lanky goal shooter Mwawi Kumwenda has said she is a cold sweat ahead of her debut for her team Melbourne Vixens against Collingwood Magpies in Melbourne as the Suncorp Super Netball League rolls into life today.

“I am ready but a little nervous,” was Mwawi’s quickfire response on how she looks forward to the match.

Signed a two-year contract: Mwawi

It will be her first official match since she joined from New Zealand club Mainland Tactix.

Meanwhile, Vixens head coach  Simone McKinnis said her team is looking forward to a good start

“We will be going out there and giving it our everything. We have had a fantastic pre-season, I couldn’t ask any more of the players, what they have done for each other and the team.

“We are excited about what we can produce, we are dynamic, I think we are going to be exciting, I think we are going to be fearless and we are going to be hard to beat,” she was quoted as saying by Suncorp Super Netball website

It further reported that the antagonism between Melbourne’s netballing foes is real as they size each other up for “The Battle”.

“Oh it’s definitely real,” said Magpies centre Kim Ravaillion.
