Mwawi Kumwenda, who plays for Australian club Peninsula Waves, will conduct her first netball clinic this year in Karonga from September 27 to October 5.

The event, which will be conducted at Lulindo Primary School and will involve pupils aged 7 to 15 years of age, will coincide with her 23rd birthday on September 27.

Mwawi said although Universal Industries, for whom she is Frooty Orange Squash ambassador, have promised to help, she would still conduct a fund-raising birthday party for her activities.

“I will hold a birthday party on September 29 at Planet Club in Karonga to raise more funds for the clinics. The party, which will be at a fee of K500 adults and K300 children, will start from 1pm to 7pm,” she said.

She added that during the clinics in Karonga, she would be assisted by former Escom Sisters player Sella Mwafulirwa-Kadenge and another Karonga-based player.

The multi-award winning shooter said after her activities in Karonga, she will take the clinics to Mzimba, Ntchisi, Dedza, Ntcheu, Mulanje, Zomba and Mangochi from October.

“I, therefore, ask for more assistance from other companies and individuals so that I should fulfil my mission of polishing primary school pupils,” she said.
