Malawi Anti-Doping Organisation (Mado) chairperson James Mwenda has been appointed chairperson of the Africa Zone VI Regional Anti-Doping Organisation’s (Rado) finance and audit sub-committee.

This comes a few months after he retained his seat as the country’s representative in Rado board.

Mwenda: I am greatly humbled

The latest appointment follows the recent reconstitution of the Rado board for the 2021-2024 term.

“I am greatly humbled by this appointment. It proves that my performance has been very good for the past four years and that the Rado has trust in my capabilities,” Mwenda said in an interview.

Mado general secretary Leonard Sharra on Sunday said if feels great to see their chairperson trusted with such an important position.

“Please, join Mado in congratulating Mwenda for the latest appointment and wishing him well as he discharges his duties in the new role,” he stated in a statement.

During his first term as Malawi’s ambassador in Rado board, the former Football Association of Malawi first vice-president was appointed as vice-chairperson of finance and administration sub-committee.
