Mzava to try his luck at Monaco

Malawi national football team (Flames) defender Limbikani ‘Pupa’ Mzava is expected to undergo trials for 11 days at French giants AS Monaco FC from next month.

According to www.kickoff.com Monaco has requested for the release of Mzava from his South African Premier Soccer League side Bloemfontein Celtic.

Monaco head of recruitment Jean-Luc Busilne confirmed the development in interview with Kickoff, saying Mzava is expected to stay in France from April 9-20.

The former Escom defender said in an interview on Tuesday that he is excited about the move as he set for second luck in Europe.

In January, Mzava passed trials at Israel top side Hapoel Tel Aviv, but the deal failed to materialise as the two clubs could not agree his transfer terms.

“They are a big club in the big league and that is a challenge for me to show that I can do it at top level,” said Mzava who is not registered at Celtic.

Mzava representatives, Complete Footballers, claim they have devised a strategy to assist him cope with the supposed rigorous evaluation process at Monaco.
