Mzava’s Injury not serious

Flames defender Limbikani Mzava is back on his feet, ruling out fears that his knee injury on Sunday was a serious one.

Mzava was stretched off the pitch in 77th minute as his team Bloemfontein Celtic lost 2-1 to Chippa United in the South African Premier Soccer League match.

From TV replays, Mzava looked in pain as he could not continue the match and was replaced by Bright Motshengwa.

“The pain was just severe but it’s not a fracture and I have not tore any muscle or tissue. I am back in training and available for selection this weekend,” said Mzava.

Mzava started his fifth consecutive match for Celtic on the right back where he has established himself as a regular.

In other PSL matches, striker Atusaye Nyondo is still without a goal this season for Supersport United. He started as a lone stiker as United drew one-all with BidVest Wits. He had a beautiful effort ruled out for offside although TV replays showed the goal should have stood.

Robin Ngalande was on the bench for Wits just as Robert Ng’ambi who was an unused substitute as Platinum beat Free State Stars 4-0. Defender Harry Nyirenda played a full game when his Black Leopards drew 2-2 with Moroka Swallows.
