Mzuzu University (Mzuni) FC technical panel has offloaded six players from the 25 players it registered with Super League of Malawi (Sulom)

at the beginning of this season.

The Northern Region giants have released Brave Phiri, Davie Ng’ambi, Hudson Milanzie, Festus Chikweza, Laiton Kapunda and Chisomo Gillion.

Mzuni have won only three games

Milanzie is expected to join Civil Service Sporting Club while Gillion and Chikweza are reportedly training with Masters Security and

Karonga United, respectively.

Mzuni FC assistant coach Edson Kadenge Mwafulirwa said the players were not not making the grade.

“As indicated earlier, we are rebuilding the team as we approach the second round,” he said.

Mzuni finished the TNM Super League first round in relegation zone on position 14 with 15 points. They only won three games, draw six and lost six as well.

They will start the second round campaign at home, Mzuzu Stadium,  against Red Lions this Saturday.

Meanwhile, chairperson Albert Mtungambera Harawa disclosed that they have given the technical panel target of making sure that the team remains in the topflight league.

“Obviously, we have to remain in the TNM Super League and at least challenge one of the caps,” he said. n
