Mzuni in a $4m hotel project
Mzuzu University (Mzuni) has embarked on a $4 million (about K2.9 billion) project which, it says, will improve the tourism sector in the country.
Mzuni faculty of tourism and hospitality management deputy dean Zandivuta Kankhuni said this in an interview on Tuesday at the university during a commemoration of a tourism month.
“We also intend to introduce post-graduate qualifications at the college. At the moment, no institution is offering such qualifications,” he said.
Kankhuni said there is need for a holistic approach to boost the tourism sector and ensure tourism facilities are accessed by all.
Mzuni Tourism Students Association president Paul Maseya said improving the tourism sector will also boost generation of forex.
The World Bank will fund the project. n
