In an attempt to improve darts management in the Northern Region, the Mzuzu and District Darts League (MDDL) on Saturday went to the polls and elected Sattesh Kaumar as its new chairperson.

Kaumar replaces Clif Surttee who has retired at the end of his two-year term.

Kaumar’s deputy is Tingo Chinamale, a soldier at Moyale Barracks. The general secretary is Hilder Gondwe and the treasurer is Smith Gondwe whereas the tournaments director is Angella Zimba.

Speaking after the elections, Kaumar called for consolidated efforts and commitment among the committee members and other stakeholders.

Surtee pledged his support towards the new committee for the sake of development of the sport.
