Mzuzu NGOs hail NGO board office opening
Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have commended government for initiating the opening of NGO Board offices in all regions of the country.4
NGO Board chairperson in Mzuzu, Moffatt Phiri, made the remarks on Friday in Mzuzu during the official opening of an NGO Board office by minister of Gender, Children, Disability and Social Welfare Jean Kalirani.
He said: “I would like to thank government for launching NGO Board office in Mzuzu. We had only two offices in Blantyre and Lilongwe so people of this region had challenges to travel to Lilongwe to register NGOs.”
In her remarks, the minister said government was committed to promoting activities of NGOs in the country.
Meanwhile Mzuzu NGO Board service centre has registered over 180 NGOs in the Northern Region. n\
