Mzuzu to host FMB U-20 finals

Mzuzu Stadium will host the 2016 FMB Under-20 Football League national finals next month, according to National Youth Football Committee (NYFC).

Last year, the national finals took place at Zomba Community Centre Ground.

Initially, the finals were scheduled to take place at Nkhata Bay Community ground, according to NYFA general secretary Thoko Chimbali, but the venue has been turned into a market.

All the district leagues are set to wind up next week.

So far, Fish Eagles are Mzuzu City champions.

Northern Region Youth Football Association (NRYFA) general secretary Bellings Kibombwe has since urged teams in the region to utilise home ground advantage during the national finals.

FMB is sponsoring this year’s Under-20 football league to the tune of K20 million.

National champions will receive K1 million.

Dedza Police are the defending champions. n
