Three months after hiring Peace Chawinga-Kaluwa as Queens coach, Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) is yet brief her on the body’s expectations, The Nation has learnt.

NAM president Rosy Chinunda has admitted that they are yet to meet both the head coach and her deputy Mary Waya regarding their terms of reference.

She was responding to a question on their expectations from the coach.

“We have not yet met the coach and there are no set targets, mainly because they are working on a part-time basis. It is different with someone who is employed permanently,” said the NAM president.

“But we will still meet them in due course to state the terms of reference.”

Chawinga-Kaluwa also confirmed that NAM has not called her to agree on the terms of reference.

“Of course, I remember meeting the GS briefly, but it had nothing to do with terms of reference.

“I was only given a contract and one of the conditions was that if I were agreeable to the offer then I should sign even if there were other issues that needed clarification. It is difficult to work under such circumstances [without clear direction], but then what else can I do? I just have to carry on,” said Chawinga-Kaluwa.
