Namadingo to construct bridge, sponsors student

Musician Patience Namadingo has announced his intention to mobilise funds and build Chendo Bridge along the Nthalire-Chitipa Road. He has also announced that he will pay  tuition fees for a needy student to pursue his tertiary education.

Namadingo made the announcement in a Facebook post on his wall yesterday.

Namadingo: It is not about where I come from

In an interview, the artist said he will act as the chairperson of the project, but the resource mobilisation will involve all Malawians of goodwill.

“With my team we are finalising the details, but one thing for sure we will finalise this project by July this year,” he said.

Namadingo said he will soon announce his resource mobilisation drive which will involve his fans and all Malawians who can contribute any amount towards the project.

“It is not about where I come from but looking after all my customers. My music is consumed by Malawians from all corners of this country and beyond,” he said.

The artist, therefore, asked his fans to help him with the new project. 

He said: “We will put out a public call. We will mobilize money. People should put together money for the project. I know there are lots of Malawians who will contribute. I will be the chairperson of the project.

Namadingo said by July the bridge will be done.

The artist is not new to charity having successfully raised funds for Queen Elizabeth Hospital Children Cancer Ward amounting to over K15 million.
