It is another year and another mashup project for Patience Namadingo. This time around the artist will feature gospel artist Grace Chinga’s songs.

The mashup has been slated for release on Monday and according to the artist, it will feature two of Chinga’s children Miracle and Steve Spesho.

It was previously thought that Namadingo’s mashup with veteran Giddess Chalamanda was the last placement in the series, but he said after reviewing the project it was discovered that the whole initiative did not cover a single female legend.

Namadingo said: “For what Chinga did and what her music means to Malawians, I believe it is only fair to have her part of this project. It will accord her fans an opportunity to refresh in their memory some of her greatest compositions.”

The Mapulani hit-maker has further disclosed that another mashup featuring Ethel Kamwendo-Banda will also follow. However, the artist has not revealed the exact release date of the project.

Commenting on the eminent release of the Chinga mashup, Namadingo said the running time is 10 minutes and it will feature nine of her greatest songs which have been selected randomly.

“There may be other twists and changes affected between now and Monday so I will not commit to say much. I will like to keep the fans in suspense. Let me not pre-empt much,” he said.

In a separate interview, Miracle said she is excited with the project and she expects that it will have a desirable impact just like the other mashups before.

Previously, the mashup project has featured Lucius Banda, Billy Kaunda, Giddess Chalamanda, Joe Kells and John JJ Kutsokwe. Once again Lilongwe-based producer Moshu has overseen the production of the song.
