Director of the Mission, Benjamin Hayes made the call when his church distributed nine containers of dehydrated foods to prisoners at Zomba Central Prison.

Dehydrated foods are a combination of beans, carrot, Irish potatoes and other vegetables that are grained and mixed to form a meal essential for boosting immunity of people living with HIV and Aids.

Quoting Matthews 25:36–45, Hayes said God still remembers and cares for inmates; hence people should emulate this example.

“The more we cheer the inmates, the more they know Christ Jesus to the fullest,” Hayes said.

Senior assistant commissioner of prisons Catherine Ngwira hailed the support prisoners receive from religious institutions and other stakeholders.
