Mighty Wanderers FC captain and Flames centre-back Foster Namwela has said he is confident of clinching a deal with South Africa’s Premier Soccer League side Black Leopards.

In an interview before he left for South Africa on Sunday, Namwela said he will give out something extra so as to be offered a deal after the week-long trials.

“Such a chance comes once in a lifetime; hence, I will try my best to impress the Leopards technical panel,” said Namwela.

He also said the presence of compatriot and former Wanderers teammate Harry Nyirenda will be a source of inspiration.

“Harry is like a brother to me and I am sure he will be a source of inspiration during the trials,” he said.

Namwela expressed gratitude to facilitator of the trials Kondie Msungama for choosing him while Msungama said he has no doubt that the player will be offered a deal.

“He has all the essentials such as good height, work-rate and experience and I have no reason to doubt that he will excel,” said Msungama.

Earlier this year, Namwela also underwent successful trials at Zimbabwean top-league side FC Platinum, but unfortunately, the deal fell through.
