“First and foremost, Nanzikambe Arts is pleased that the story line of Ku Kabula caught the eyes of Schuran from Germany who expressed interest to direct it.

“He saw our potential during one of our performances and like the idea. So, when he came to Malawi he expressed interest to work with us,” said Mphundu Mjumira, one of Nankikambe actors.

He said Schuran reshaped and devised the story of Ku Kabula to its current digestible state.

Apart from winning the heart of Schuran, doors have been opened up for the play in Germany, Switzerland, Norway and Cameroon.

“We will have a tour to a number of countries such as Norway this year where our play is on a demand,” said Mjumira.

On the local scene, the play has been staged at musician Chingalire village in Lilongwe and Mzuzu University. Today, the play will be performed at Chancellor College in Zomba.    n
