National Bank of Malawi (NBM) on Monday bid farewell to two senior employees of the bank at a farewell get-together held at the head office in Blantyre.

The two are Joe Likubwe who was the business development manager in the corporate banking division responsible for government and diplomatic missions and Gilbert Chibesakunda, the company secretary and legal counsel.

The bank’s chief executive officer, George Patridge, hailed the two for being diligent, loyal and hardworking during the time they worked at the bank.

“The function [we have held for them] is very significant because these two are very senior people in National Bank who have contributed a lot to the performance of the bank over the years.

“It was important that we give them a very good send-off, to witness and celebrate their achievements that they have made over the years,” he said.

Patridge said the event was also to give an example to all employees that one can retire honourably with integrity intact in the bank.

Likubwe said he cherished the time he worked at the bank and the friendship he cultivated with fellow employees.

On his part, Chibesakunda said he had a good time at the bank and that his working for the financial institution was destiny.
