NBS Bank appoints new CEO

The Malawi Stock Exchange (MSE)-listed NBS Bank has appointed Bernadette Mandoloma as the new chief executive officer (CEO) effective January 1 2013.

Mandoloma fills the vacancy left by the former CEO John Biziwick who, some few months back, was appointed Commissioner General of the Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA).

In a statement announcing the appointment on Monday, the bank said acting CEO Gilford Kadzakumanja has retained his position as the deputy CEO whereas Dumisani Chatima is now chief finance officer.

According to the bank, Mandoloma, who is a holder of a diploma in business studies, Bachelor of Commerce (Accountancy) degree, a Master of Science in Accounting and Finance, brings to the position a wealth of experience and expertise having worked in a number of organisations in various positions.

She worked as finance director and general manager (finance) for Nico Holdings Limited, CEO of Press Agriculture Limited, investment manager of Press Trust and financial controller of Indebank Financial Services Limited, among others.

“Besides her academic achievements and the work experience, Ms Mandoloma has also attended various training programmes,” reads the statement.
