Ndirande Pastors Fraternal Saturday last week donated soap and sugar worth K70 000 to Ndirande Heath Centre maternity ward.

Speaking during the function, chairperson of the group, Bishop James Mkoko, said the pastors were giving to mothers and expectant women because helping the weak and poor is one of the key principles of the Bible.

Mkoko said the group also wanted to contribute to government’s vision of promoting safe motherhood in the country.

“The group has pastors from various churches and we decided to bring soap and sugar to expectant women and mothers who have just given birth because the Bible promotes sharing and giving freely.

“God is happy when men give to their fellow men. The fraternal is targeting hospitals in other areas where it will visit the sick and cheer the elderly,” he said.
