Speaking during the handover of the office yesterday, Ndirande-Malabada legislator Ishmael Mkumba said he allocated CDF money to the police after receiving a request from the law enforcers and community members.

On his part, the station’s officer-in-charge Chikondi Chingadza commended authorities for the support.

During the handover, members of the community, police and chiefs from the township also discussed ways of curbing early pregnancies among girls.

Chingadza said Ndirande has, so far, registered 20 teen pregnancies since the closure of schools due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We should find ways to deal with the problem. We also want to discuss how Covid-19 measures will be implemented in Ndirande,” he said.

The new office has cost K8.4 million.
