Netball Association elections on this year
The Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) will hold elections during its annual general meeting later this year, the association’s general secretary Helene Mpinganjira told state radio MBC on Thursday.
“We will announce the actual date of the elections later,” Mpinganjira is quoted as saying.
Asked by Nation Online on Tuesday about latest netball updates from her office, Mpinganjira said there was none.
Previous NAM elections in 2010 sparked verbal war among contestants.
Apart from Mpinganjira, other incumbent office bearers include vice-general secretary Titus Wankhamwa, NAM president Rosy Chinunda, her deputy Henry Kamata and treasurer Abigal Sharrif.
NAM’s biggest challenge is to grow netball at the grassroots, get enough sponsorship and turn Queens’ continental dominance into global.
