New Dawn gives Kachiza lifeline

Boxer Robert Kachidza, who was knocked out in the second round of an international fight against a Zimbabwean boxer, has been given a chance to revive his career.
Kachidza will fight Alexander Likande in an eight-round contest on August 30 at Lilongwe Community Centre.

Kachiza (L) and Moliyati are also set to fight

The bout will be featured as undercard on the title fight, involving Salimu Chazama and Chrispin Moliati, according to New Dawn managing director Michael Chimaliza.
“He [Kachidza] approached me on Monday, saying he wants to re-launch his career. Since we promoted his first fight, I thought it proper to let him rebuild his career,” said Chimaliza.
The irony of it all is that Kachidza is the challenger instead of Likande.

“Despite that set back, I am back in the gym and training hard. I believe I am still in good shape. I will knock him [Likande] out,” said Kachidza.
On his part, Likande described Kachidza as outdated and that he will not last the rounds.
“I have been working on those weaknesses and I believe I will knock him out and send him into retirement. He should not take me as an underdog,” said Likande. 
