New events firm born in Lilongwe
A new events production and promotion company has been born in Lilongwe.
Called Qoncept Creative, the firm aims at promoting different art like poetry, comedy, music through event production and management, among others.
“Qoncept Creative was registered in January this year and is still being established. We will launch the company with the Lawi and Faith Mussa show at Capital Hotel on April 20. The company will be providing various services from sound and lighting, event production and management, event and VIP security and other related services. We also hope to become a booking agent for artists,” said the firm’s creative director Qabaniso Q Malewezi in an interview.
After providing technical support for Lawi at his launch and other shows that he did, the firm has decided to produce a bigger show for the artist.
Said Malewezi: “We will have him together with Faith Mussa. These two artists work great together and have collaborated on a number of performances. Both of them are also very popular”.
After this inaugural show, Qoncept Creative will also host Uganda’s queen of comedy Annie Kansiime, who will have shows in Blantyre and Lilongwe on May 17 and 18.
This according to the creative director, is the beginning of several tours of big international artists.
“We are planning on a calendar for the rest of the year and are really excited with some of the artists we are talking to both local and international. We should have a couple of them visiting. We will put out the calendar of events on our website and electronic newsletter once we confirm all the acts,” said Malewezi.
