Blueprint Brand Agency has refreshed the playlist for the World Aids Day Concert slated for Saturday afternoon at Shire Highlands Hotel in Malawi’s commercial city, Blantyre.

According to Blueprint project coordinator Innocent Mkandawire, they have lost poet Q Malewezi to Bwalo la Aluso Festival Awards Gala in Lilongwe but roped in Daredevils, Barry One, Gwamba, Young Kay, DJ Boo, BlakJak, Kumbu and Pon G.

Other performers include the Nde’feyo Entertainment crew of Biriwiri and their newest signing Trumel, said Mkandawire.

He hinted that Armstrong is recording a theme song for the cause which will also feature a candlelight ceremony in memory of those who died of Aids. There will also be a freestyle competition which will see the best dancers and rappers winning T-shirts.

Other activities include face-painting, photo-shoots with celebrities, HIV testing and counselling and distribution of condoms.

“All is in place for the concert. We believe the country has stars that can influence masses to make informed decisions on behavioural change in times of HIV and Aids,” said Mkandawire.

The dress code for the concert includes a red ribbon symbolising awareness and a visual expression for compassion for people living with the virus.

The event will benefit children at Bangwe Orphan Centre.
