New road turning into refuse site in Mzuzu

People of Chiputula Township in Mzuzu have appealed to Mzuzu City Council (MCC) to quickly provide garbage containers along the newly-constructed Mzuzu Airport-Chiputula Road before it finally turns into a disposal area.

The road has just been completed and is awaiting commissioning, but already it is almost blocked by heaps of  garbage.

MCC chief executive officer (CEO) Mcloud Kadam’manja said in an interview on Monday that his office is aware of the problem which he said, has arisen due to the breaking down of its two garbage collection trucks.

However, he said the problem will be sorted out soon. n
