New Year’s Eve make-up, hair and clothes

Festive season party time is still going on until January 1 2012!  In fact, most formal, black-tie dinner and dance parties usually take place on December 31st, that last day of the year!

Your make-up should be appropriate for every situation, and look fabulous at the same time.  There’s no need for you to step away from your own personality to look spruced up, just darken up your favourite daytime colours to enhance it for a little extra evening contrast. Formal events call for a bit of drama to your look.  Go all the way with gold shimmer on your cheeks and smoky eyes.  For all over gold shine, mix some liquid shimmer into your normal foundation or body lotion.   Double your mascara, liner or lipstick and make sure your eyebrows are well shaped.

When it comes to hair, an updo is popular for holiday season parties, dinners  or special outings.  Updos look elegant  and can be worn with casual or formal clothing. Add some spark with hair accessories  such as barrettes on the side of the head or jewel-studied hair pins.

A black dress is a favourite for many when it comes to party dressing. It never goes out of fashion, looks good on most skin tones and is not too difficult to shop for. Dresses in plum or apple green are also in season.  Other options are magenta, electric blue, cerise pinks, purple, and of course, the simple sexy red dress!

I wish you all lots of fun during the festive season parties and a Merry Christmas!
