Ng’onamo blames failure to win league on KS closure

Big Bullets coach Eddington Ng’onamo has attributed his team’s failure to win the TNM Super League by a whisker due to the closure of Kamuzu Stadium at one point.

In a case of being so near and yet so far, the People’s Team finished the league as runners-up despite tying with champions Silver Strikers on 58 points and they had to be separated by goal difference.

“The fact that we played some of our games away from Kamuzu Stadium affected our chase for the title.

“Had we played most of the games here, I am very certain it would have been a different thing altogether,” said Ng’onamo

He added that there is no humiliation in coming second, especially in a race decided by goal difference.

“We fought right to the very end and failing to win the championship by goal difference just shows how we fought and patience should be our guiding virtue going forward,” said Ng’onamo.
