South Africa-based veteran midfielder Robert Ng’ambi and striker Robin Ngalande are hoping to bounce back into action after the festive season.

Ng’ambi and Ngalande are unattached, having parted ways with Platinum Stars and Baroka FC, respectively, at the end of last season.

Closing in on Leopards deal: Ng’ambi

Ng’ambi, who also suffered an injury during trials in Cyprus two months ago, has since started training with his former club Black Leopards and hopes to seal a deal soon.

“There is nothing concrete yet because I have been working on improving my fitness levels, having been out of action for some time coupled with the injury I suffered.

“The other delaying factor to seal the deal [here at Leopards] is because we were waiting for the new coach [Dylan Kerr] who has just been taken on board.

“Otherwise, everything is on course, I am at home where it all started and I should bounce back soon,” he said.

On his part, Ngalande said his management agency is working around the clock to get him a club during the transfer window.

“They [my managers] have been working on some options. We have a couple of weeks before the next window reopens and I am positive something will crop up,” he said.

Also unattached are striker Gerald Phiri Jnr and Atusaye Nyondo who parted ways with Bidvest Wits and Bloemfontein Celtic, respectively.

Currently, Malawi only has two players in the PSL—Limbikani Mzava (Golden Arrows) and Frank ‘Gabadinho’ Mhango (Wits).
