Platinum Stars Malawian midfielder Robert Ng’ambi has trashed South Africa media reports, once again linking him with a January move to Bidvest Wits in the South Africa Absa Premier League.

Leading KickOff Magazine reported on Tuesday that Ng’ambi was among 15 top players whom clubs would jostle for when the transfer window re-opens next month. Stars are struggling this season while being placed second from the bottom.

“The Malawian international has been linked with Mamelodi Sundowns since 2001, but nothing materialised this time though, Bidvest Wits may be the frontrunners,” reported the publication.

The magazine, just like other South African publications, has over the years linked the in-form scoring midfielder with high profile moves to clubs such as Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, but nothing materialised.

In an interview on Tuesday evening, the former Big Bullets and Black Leopards playmaker shrugged off such reports, saying he was now used to speculation.

Ng’ambi is the South Africa league’s top leading scoring midfielder on four goals.

“I have come to accept that on the onset of every transfer window, I will always be a subject of transfer speculation. I just choose to ignore it,” said Ng’ambi.

Still in South Africa, Leopards Malawian defender Harry Nyirenda has refused to commit himself on a possible January transfer to Free State Stars.
