Round Table Malawi on Saturday donated food items to people affected by this year’s floods in Traditional Authority (T/A) Tengani in Nsanje District in a bid to put them back on their feet.

Speaking in an interview after the donation, Round Table Malawi president Ibrahim Mojoo said the humanitarian assistance was part of their flood relief project which they embarked on as soon as the floods hit the country in March this year.

“Since then, we have been providing relief items such as food, blankets, buckets, seeds and many more to the victims to lessen their suffering and support their recovery from the disaster,” he said.

Mojoo further thanked Road to Relief and international tables for assisting Round Table Malawi with various items the organisation has been donating to the victims.

“It is humbling to give back to our communities the little we have to make life better,” he said.

Group village head (GVH) Dumba hailed the table for its continued support to flood victims, even six months after the floods.

“Now children in my area eat porridge in the morning, courtesy of the Round Table Malawi donation,” she said.

One of the beneficiaries, Harold Maliki from GVH Dumba in T/A Tengani thanked Round Table Malawi for the donation, saying it came at a time he had no food in his family.
