Nigeria’s comedic youngster Emmanuella is set to perform in Blantyre and Lilongwe to mark this year’s World Comedy Day.

The young comedian is expected to perform alongside her compatriots such as Mark Angelo, Denlison Igwe as well as Malawi’s Afro pop musician Dan Lu and Mr Jokes.

According to organisers of the event, Sisqo Productions and Malawi’s Primic Inc, the shows are scheduled for Comesa Hall in Blantyre on June 30 and Bingu International Convention Centre (Bicc) in Lilongwe on July 1, the World Comedy Day.

The observance was set aside 35 years ago to celebrate theatre practitioners in the world. Sisqo Productions proprietor Christopher Nwaogwugwu said Malawi should get ready for the fiesta.

Dan Lu is signed up at Sisqo Productions.

“This is a special event in which comedy will come face-to-face with music,” he said.

Emmanuella is a young comedian whose repertoire appeals particularly to the youthful audience. Limited tickets for children are selling at K15 000 (VIP) and K10 000 (Standard).
