“The league has finished well; congratulations to Nkhorongo for the good display. With the youthful squad, the team has managed to realise its dream of playing in the Premier League this season. Meanwhile, we are liaising with sponsors to set a date so that we should officially crown Nkhorongo,” said Gondwe.

Bondela Nyirongo and Sam Mkandawire scored for Nkhorongo in 12th minutes and 66th minutes respectively.

Defending champions Green Rangers are on position 10 while Katoto United are third with 70 points.

Eighteen teams participated in the league.

Reacting to the team’s success, Nkhorongo team manager Vinjelu Munthali said their mission has been accomplished.

“Our aim has been to join the Premier League. Looking at how we are performing, I have no doubt that we will also do better in the top league,” he said.
