The qualities of who to marry (continued)
a)     She has to be energetic (Genesis 24:20), hard-working and not lazy (Proverbs 31: 17, 27); he has to be hard-working (Genesis 39:2-3), (Genesis 47:13-26)
b)     She has to be hospitable, conscious of other people. Eager to serve and take the initiative to make people feel welcome
c)     The man must be conscious of other people (Genesis 37:13-17), caring and able to serve others (Genesis 40:3-6)
d)     Has to be a woman of faith (Genesis 24:57), ready to leave home and family for the Promised Land. He has to be a man of faith, fearing God and hating evil (Genesis 37:2, 39:7-13)
e)     She has to be a disciplined and well-mannered girl, who minds her own business (Genesis 24:16, 28,64-65). He has to be a good dreamer, a man of destiny and a visionary (Genesis 37:5, 9)
f)      She has to be a responsible woman, ready to go further than the minimum standards requested (Genesis 24: 15-16, 19-20). He also has to be responsible, full of wisdom, skilled and gifted (Genesis 41: 31-43, Genesis 47: 13-26)
g)     She has to be full of respect (Genesis 24: 18 Proverbs 31: 12-23). He has to be faithful and trust worthy, a respected authority in his conduct and doings (Genesis 39: 7-13).
Rabecca was simple, industrious, humble, cheerful, serviceable and hospitable. Joseph was engaged to Mary and had a character with a combination of
1. A sense of right and wrong – he was upright when conforming to the laws of God and man (Matthew 1: 19).
2. Self-discipline and restraint – he exercised uncommon self-restraint in sexual matters  (Matthew 1:25).
3. Justice tempered with mercy- he was just, honest and good as demonstrated in his decision to divorce his wife quietly/ secretly
4. Obedient to the word of God- ready to go by what God said
These are some of the qualities to look for and pray for in a boy or girl to marry. He who finds a wife (or husband) finds a good thing and obtains favour before God, (Proverbs 18:22)
