Mayor of the City of Blantyre, I would realise that the efficiency in fighting and chasing vendors from the streets is baffling when once considers that they are not the only culprits against my drive to keep the city clean.

If I were his worship, I would balance my efforts in bringing back the beauty of the city by also taking a hardline on companies that are doing more damage towards my campaign by polluting rivers such as Mudi and Nasolo.

I would appreciate that they too need to be taken to task and not only the poor vendors—some of them poor women with children at their backs—who are chased vigorously by my men.

Yes, your worship, while yours is a noble cause, I would also consider providing solutions to the vendors by building more flea markets at strategic points because they cannot all fit in the existing ones that were built long time back.

Oh yes, if I were the mayor I would also realise that at a time when I am trying to enforce my X-campaign, there are still other people who are building substandard structures.

That is if only I were Councillor Chalamanda, unfortunately I am not him! n
