The club’s general secretary David Kanyenda described the election as free and fair saying the contestants had a joint get together after the polls.

“This is the spirit that we encourage at nyerere whereby despite the outcome of elections, that we should still be able to interact as members of the same family,” said Kanyenda.

He also said the new committee will be expected to intensify the supporters registration drive in the region as well as come up with fund-raising initiatives to support the team’s operations.

“We have a very big fan base in the Central Region and therefore we expect our Central Region supporters committee to step up the registration drive and initiate fund-raising activities as is the case with our Big Bullets counterparts,” said Kanyenda.

During the polls, Gift Mawaya was elected first vice-chairperson while Katopola Kasache was elected second vice-chairperson.

Jumali Saidi retained his seat as secretary with Yande Nyirongo as his deputy. The position of treasurer went to Chulu Mkangama whereas Chris Zingwangwa was elected vice-treasurer.
