Be Forward Wanderers are hopeful of securing a permanent work permit for their Cameroonian striker Lionel Asu whose approach to the game has created a big impression at the Lali Lubani Road.

Wanderers general secretary Mike Butao and the player’s representative Prince Jere confirmed that Asu is on a temporary work permit which expires this September.

“That is being processed. The reason they gave us a temporary one was because we had applied for a permanent one. So, when this one expires, they will also give us a temporary one until we get a permanent permit,” Butao said.

With three goals in six games, Asu has won over the Nomads for his professional attitude to the game.

“He is a natural leader. Even when he comes from the bench, he rallies the rest of players to work harder. He has added seriousness into the team,” the Wanderers GS noted.

Jere confirmed that Asu obtained a six-month permit and will only need another one for a similar duration as he is on a year-long contract.
