As part of their ambitious commercialisation drive, Be Forward Wanderers have launched SPA Noma bottled water which has already hit the market.

The product was launched alongside other merchandise such as branded umbrellas and berets during their Nyasa Top Four Bonanza match against Mozambican side Ferroviario de Nampula at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Saturday.

Nomads general secretary Mike Butao said the initiative is among several projects which they have lined up.

“This is all part of commercialisation. There are several projects that are in the offing, but typical of us we never like to talk about plans or what we intend to do.

“Instead, we prefer talking about what we have done,” he said.

The Nomads GS said they have partnered with Lilongwe Beverages Limited (LBL) to produce our SPA Noma bottled water.

“The product is already on the market and can currently be sourced from Wanderers Clubhouse at Chichiri. There will be more distribution points which we will announce within the next few days.

“We have also gone into partnership with Umbro through their representatives in South Africa. After a three year marriage with Macron, which in itself was the first shirt deal ever for a Malawian club in Malawi, we have from  January 1  2019, gone into a new partnership with Umbro for production of team wear and travel wear,” Butao said.

He said all the team’s  regalia will be produced by Umbro.

“We will even have home and away track suits.  This has never happened in the country before. These are not things that will happen. They are things that have already happened. We try our best to set the pace for others to follow,” boasted Butao.

He further said their partnership with Umbro includes “production of top quality replica jerseys which will be in the country very soon”.

“We have league partners, cup partners, training partners, travel partners, etc. In total we have over 20 partners from Japan and these are mostly insurance, clearing and forwarding companies.

“It is [also] our wish to get local partners this year. The first one is LBL. We appreciate the immense wisdom LBL Management have shown by partnering with Be Forward Wanderers—a unique, stable and sensible brand,” he said.

In August last year, the Nomads also launched Noma Yathu SMS Promotion as a way of raising additional funding for the club’s operations.
