Nomads salute BB for winning title

Be Forward Wanderers yesterday swallowed their pride and saluted their age-old rivals Big Bullets for retaining the TNM Super League title in spectacular fashion.

Even with four games to wind up the season, the People’s Team already has the championship in the bag having sealed it on Wednesday after beating Azam Tigers 2-1.

Wanderers general secretary Mike Butao and co-team manager Stevie Madeira took turns to salute Bullets.

Said Butao: “Congratulations to Bullets, cool way to end the season after securing sponsorship. They have been fantastic in the league and deserve all the applause coming their way.

“It was a pleasure to see how every single Bullets player worked hard and ran after every ball even though the title was already as good as wrapped up. Amazing spirit!”

While Madeira posted on his Facebook page: “It’s now beyond reach. Congrats neba and the entire red army family on being crowned champions for the 2015 TNM Super League.”

The Nomads are on seventh position with 31 points from 21 games—26 points behind Bullets who, however, have played three more games. n
