Nomads slump further to 7th position

Mighty Be Forward Wanderers slumped further from sixth to seventh position in the TNM Super League at the weekend following Mafco’s 2-1 win over Airborne Rangers on Sunday at Chitowe Stadium in Dwangwa.

Callisto Kalinda scored both goals for Mafco whereas Joseph Donsa netted the consolation goal for Airborne.

Mafco were seventh before their game against Airborne, but the win saw them move two places up the ladder to fifth with 28 points from 17 games. The Nomads, who were on bye last weekend, have 26 points from 16 games.

They have lost two games consecutively to Civo United and Kamuzu Barracks (KB) and their next fixture is against Big Bullets this Saturday at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

In the other Super League match played on Saturday at Kalulu Stadium in Nchalo, Tigers were held to a goalless draw by Mzuni.

Tigers are winless in the second round so far having drawn three and lost one.

They are on fourth position with 29 points from 18 games.

Three teams—second-placed Blue Eagles, Silver Strikers who are third and Tigers have 29 points each, but are separated on goal difference.

Bullets still top the table with 38 points from 16 matches. They remain the only team yet to taste defeat

Rookies Fisd Wizards still anchor the log table with 11 points from 17 matches whereas fellow rookies Mzuni are second from the bottom with 13 points from the same number of games. n
