North Henga CCAP celebrates 100 years

There was joy and jubilation at North Henga 1 CCAP Church in the northern Malawi district of Rumphi last Sunday when the church celebrated 100 years of existence.

People from all backgrounds such as politicians, traditional leaders and members of various churches attended the occasion.

Moderator of the Livingstonia CCAP Synod Dr. Kabulunga Nyasulu said those who profess faith in God should live lives that reflect His image.

Nyasulu said believers have a duty to bear good fruit in their lives so that others can learn from them.

Quoting from Isaiah 9:1-7 and Mathew 5: 14-15, he said Jesus Christ is the light of the world whose work should be followed by people who believe in Him.

The moderator hailed Henga 1 Church for organising such a grand occasion to commemorate 100 years of service to God.

“It is not easy to organise an event like this. People must be united to do this wonderful work. I urge people in their respective churches to show this spirit of oneness,” he said.

Minister of Sports and Youth Development Enoch Chihana, who also attended the celebrations, thanked God for what He has done for him.

Chief Mwahenga said he was happy and proud that a church in his area was commemorating 100 years of existence.

Mwahenga thanked the synod for planting the church in the area and for operating rural banks that help people to run businesses.
