North national IDs ready for distribution

The second consignment of the National Identity Cards (IDs) for the Northern Region arrived in Mzuzu on Wednesday ready for distribution.

In an interview, National Registration Bureau (NRB) spokesperson Norman Fulatira said they expect to finish the distribution of about 1.5 million cards in April.

“That is the second consignment for the North, the first was for Likoma District. we have planned to complete distribution by April 20,” he said, adding that distribution for the whole Northern Region is expected by the end of April.

Minister of Civic Education, Culture and Community Development Grace Chiumia advised people to take care of their identy cards because replacing them attracts a fee. n
