All candidates for Northern Region Be Forward Wanderers Supporters Committee polls were elected unopposed at Mzuzu Stadium on Sunday.

The elections, which attracted thousands of Nomads supporters in the North, saw Joseph Bolamoyo retaining the chairperson position for the fifth time.

Announcing the results, Gerald Maulana, who was the elections committee chairperson, said the elections were so easy to administer because candidates in all positions had no competitors.

This he said shows that the candidates won the trust of voters.

In his acceptance speech, Bolamoyo said he will make sure that zonal supporters committees are available in all districts in the region.

He said with the availability of zonal committees it will be easy for the club to maximise revenue collection from its supporters through the team supporters’ identity card programme.

“I thank you my fellow Wanderers supporters for according me another term as your chairperson. I am ready to serve the team and this time my major task will be to continue creating zonal committees so that we ably assist the team in collecting money from our supporters across the region through the supporters identify card issuing programme,” he said.

During the polls Michael Banda retained the position of vice-chairperson. Chilipo Kapanda, who was the committee’s treasurer, is now the general secretary.

Linda Kamanga is the new treasurer while Geoffrey Thibu is the vice-treasurer.

Vascal Msowoya was elected vice-general secretary.

Simeon Kapalamula, Muhammed Khalidi, Alex Msowoya, Joshua Phiri, James Deza and Wisdom Mwalwanda are committee members.
