NPL Mothers’ Day Fun Run gets more support

Former students of Mzimba Secondary School have donated K200 000 towards Nation Publications Limited (NPL) Mothers’ Day Fun Run whose beneficiary this year is Mzimba District Hospital.

Speaking when he handed over the cheque, Mzimba Secondary School Alumni Association (Mssaa) chairperson Barnett Phiri said the money came from individual contributions.

“Realising how efficiently and effectively the hospital served us while at Mzimba Secondary School and how it continues to serve the current students, the membership of this association contributed towards this noble cause,” he said.

NPL head of sales and marketing Macdonad Kadewa said his company was grateful for the contribution. He said the money will help in addressing some of the hospital’s needs.

He added: “This year’s NPL Mothers’ Day Fun Run has seen up to 20 organisations and individuals contributing, which is a record number because in the past, we could have five or at most 10 contributors. As such, NPL is very grateful for these contributions.”

Meanwhile, Mssaa will donate books to Mzimba Secondary School on the same day NPL Mothers’ Day Fun Run will take place.
