NPL and Zodiak have been given the operating licence by Events Management Limited, title holders of the pageant, according to Teresa Ndanga, spokesperson of the task force.

“The pageant has been docile for some years now. These two pemedia institutions in the country have the capacity to ensure that there’s no gap. Essentially, what has brought us together is to ensure that young women are empowered.

“Miss Malawi is another way of empowering women. As such, it is not only for young women in town but we are looking at even districts. So, we are going to each and every district to scout and audition and the selected will compete at regional level,” Ndanga said.

She said while the launch will see the formal license handover from Events Management Limited, more details about Miss Malawi will be made public on March 23.
