Two Nsanje girls, who were impregnated by their defilers, are now mothers to a baby boy and girl respectively.

Nsanje district health officer (DHO) Medson Matchaya said he delivered the first girl, 16, in April normally while the other, 12, was delivered last month through Caesarean section.

The 16-year-old, a Standard Seven pupil, was allegedly defiled by her teacher, who she claimed lured her into sex in return for promotion to an upper class.

The 12-year-old, an orphan, was repeatedly defiled, allegedly by her two cousins. All three suspects were arrested and released on bail.

Matchaya told Nation on Sunday in May that police required Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) tests to prosecute the culprits.

Every Woman helped source money from well-wishers for the test, which are being carried out.

The girls are still calling on well-wishers to help them, in particular with clothing, soap for themselves and their babies. They also need school fees to return to school.
