Ntcheu accidents claim four lives

 

Four people have died in two separate road accidents in Ntcheu District over the weekend.

According to Ntcheu Police Station spokesperson Hastings Chigalu, three people died at Mlangeni when they were hit by a saloon vehicle registration LA 9343  that was trying to overtake a truck but was disturbed by an oncoming vehicle. The saloon hit a minibus and overturned in the process.

“The rolling car hit two female pedestrians and a nine-year-old boy who died on the spot due to head injuries,” he said.

Chigalu said, in the second accident, a driver of a saloon registration BS 7318, which had two passengers, failed to negotiate a corner and the vehicle overturned and one passenger died due to the impact.

The police spokesperson said the passenger died while receiving treatment at Dedza District Hospital. n
